Brown areas on Grevillea leaves.

Hi all

I have a Grevillea Orange Marmalade in a large pot. Almost all of the leaves have recently started to turn brown on the outer edges of the leaves.
It's in a sunny spot, I water it once a week.
Does anyone know what this may be?

I think it could be a couple of thing and you will have to do a process of elimination.
Q. is it grafted? if so it could be reverting back to the main plant, how do you find out is to check the base of the plant below the graft and see if you see any shots of the old plant. if you do prune them off back to stomp, now with plants reverting back it a bit of touch and go for your Grevillea some time you save the plant some time not sorry.
Q. Fertilizing when did you fertilizes the plant and what with? you can use the wrong fertilizer and burn the plant.
best to use a specialised Native fertilizer for Natives.
Q. how hot has the days been? if really hot days, I would be water any pot plant at lest three days a week. just check the potting mix in the pot for moisture, if it moist don't water it.
Q. how old has the plant been in the pot for? check to see if the plant is not root bound, if so maybe upgrade it to a bigger pot with new potting mix.

The most likely cause of what shows in your photo is overly wet soil either from over-watering, heavy rains, or poorly draining soil mix. Peppers don't like continuously wet roots and leaf margins curl and brown and it sheds leaves directly at the stem junction when kept overly wet. Plus if it has been especially cool weather lately that makes the problem worse as the soil is still too cool. Usually letting the soil dry substantially and warm up will stop the problem. Yellowing of leaves surfaces, often with brownish burned areas, occurring on leaves that are more exposed to sun, is caused by more sun exposure than the plant is able to tolerate. Some varieties need shade, while all plants that have been protected from direct sun will be tender until hardened off by gradual exposure to sun light. Possible solutions are to give the plant more shade or move it to a more protected site. This often occurs after a plant has been moved to a sunnier location or been pruned. Freeze burn will cause the same thing. Often there is a grayish appearance to burned areas in the leaf, or total browning, depending on the severity of the cold. Here is an update on the tree. We had some pretty big el nino rains over the winter time, so I can see the bacteria/fungus happennig. I am not sure how old the tree is. maybe 2-3 years? When I took over the house, it had a few avocados on it, and I read that they don't produce until about the 4th year, so maybe it is older than 3 years? I want to clear out the grass beneath the tree, thinking they are just eating up any nutrients that should go to the tree. Should I do that? or does it not matter much with these trees? Here is a new photo of the tree and it's tag. From what I am reading, this tree is fairly frost tolerant? It has tons of these little buds now that you see on the first picture., I assume they are leaf buds. I only water it infrequently with a deep watering if it's been without rain for a while.
