Hi Joe,
Try www.floridata.com and you may have some success. Some other common names for this are 'elephant garlic' broadleaf wild leek' and 'Babbington's leek' the latter being a variety.
Good luck
Dee.

RE: Pearlzwiebel - Allium ampeloprasum

Hi,
I have some information.

It was grown widely in Denmark for pickling the small bulbs, but has gone out of produktion, as small pickled onions are now imported. It is still in culture in Germany.

The real german name is Perlzwiebel. Elephant garlic and Babbingtons leek are very different varieties, so don't get them mixed up.

I've just made a quick googlesearch and found for you a site where you can buy Perlzwiebel:

http://www.genres.de/infos/vern/index.htm
Its a norther german seedsaver society.

Its in german, but why not try to send them a mail in english, they are likely to understand you.

Wish you good luck.

Sören.
