My water bill will be huge, but water is more important than fertilizer. I would not be so sure that the March and April freezes (after February warmth) will not affect your plants. I thought that too, but am seeing low bud count now. Things like bud count are affected by weather long before scapes begin to form. It does seem, though, that scape density is fairly good this year. Too early for firm conclusions.

Without realizing, that there are several types of Chincherinchees. I ordered some bulbs, but they sent the 'Arab eyes', disappointing, only one of the 3 bulbs bloomed, but the have a lot of leaves.

Thanks Inga,I used Google and got this site http://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/mag/ -which you may know and it gives me all the answers about Chinchins that I need..It mentions Canada and a terrific common name-The Florists Nightmare because of iys longevity as a cut flower. I really love this pseudo.

I hadn't heard of the name, but do find it funny.
I wonder if the florists are "holding" this flower away, as we seldom see a singe planted stem of this.
