Jacaranda Care

Hello everyone, I'm hoping for some good advice on how best to care for a Jacaranda tree I've got growing in a pot right now, I don't have anywhere to plant it right now but I hope to after. It's a gift for my girlfriend so obviously I want to look after it well. I'm assuming it needs some pruning based on its appearance, I've included some pictures to give a good idea of its current condition. It seems very healthy but I'm worried about it growing too much while still in the pot.

RE: Jacaranda Care

Hi I would not prune a Jacaranda as the new growth goes straight up in the air I did that to one of ours and it looked so bad I got hubby to remove it..

If you have to prune at all it may be best to take the complete branch off at the trunk..

There is a fact sheet from Burke's Backyard on the link below

Here is a link that might be useful: Jacaranda
