Nandina domestica

This plant sets red seeds, and I was wondering if anyone had had experience of this seed germinating in other parts of the garden.

I guess I would like to know if this plant has the potential to become a bushland weed ?

I know the N.domestica "pygmaea" does not set seed.

Thanks.

Hi Popi...
All I can tell you is that in Brisbane Berry-producing cultivars should be avoided because of their weed potential.

No idea about NSW though..

I suppose it might depend on where you live. I'm in Southern Tablelands, have two large and mature clumps which produce lots of berries. I have had one seedling come up randomly in a pot of something else, had no seedlings from intentional plantings, and have no identified seedlings pop up in my garden.
