 o
western summer sun AND winter shade

Help! I need a row of evergreen shrubs about 1.5m high that can take the full summer sun and shade in winter - they are on the south face of the house, exposed to the west. We get heavy frosts but they will be a little protected by the eaves. Has anyone got any ideas on what could be tough enough to take these conditions?

I agree with Artie re: Murraya's. They will be perfect for your hedge, but aren't we all sick to death of them yet? Why not try a grumichama hedge? Then you'll get lovely berries to pick at in the summer months too!

oops!

OOPS! Sorry meant this posting for another thread. But give the murraya's a go....they're green, lush, easy and pretty much indestructible. And I've seen them get thick and bushy even in quite shady spots, so I don't think the winter shade will hurt them at all.
