| Can someone please provide some informationon growing and propogating angels trumpet.
There's a couple of plants a few houses up - and the old gardner only knows them as angels trumpet.
They are a tree similar in growing habit to a pawpaw and have a wonderful large white trumpet shaped flower.
thanks for any help

It sounds like it is probably a Brugmansia. Do a google on images and you will probably find it. The other thing it could be is Datura suaveolens. Both plants are know as Angel's trumpets. It is most likely the first. Be careful if you have puppies or dogs that chew on plants, it can be deadly. You can strike cuttings about 10cm. long in autumn. Use stems that are not too woody, but not soft. Cheers, Dee. |

| thanks deejaus according to the google pics - it could be either. I won't bother growing after your warning about animals that chew - my nugget (staffy cross) chews just about everything in the garden - he especially loves the green leaves of garlic and any bit of the palms that hit the ground. |

Yes, it's better to be safe than sorry. It is an absolutely gorgeous flower, but not worth the life of your dog. Our neighbours two doors up lost their puppy when he chewed on it. Cheers, Dee. |
