Can anyone tell me about Elaeagnus macrophyllia or Russian Olive? Specifically if it is a) toxic esp. to horses, and b) if it becomes invasive? Many thanks.

RE: Russian olive

Hi maddy I found this link on a UK web-site seems they grow it for the fruit.
No mention if it becomes invasive, it grows 3mts x3mts.

But Elaeagnus angustifolia ( Russian Olive ) is very invasive and grow to 10mts ( 30 ft )

Which one do you have ????......MM

Here is a link that might be useful: Elaeagnus macrophylla

Not us, but our neighbours are thinking of putting them in on the boundary fence. Just wanted to make sure it isn't the invasive one. Many thanks, Maddy
