| Something nasty keeps nibbling my tree. Last year it was (I think) hibiscus beetle, and Confidor and a bit of cutting back saved the day. Now the damage is worse than ever, all the new growth badly chewed, and no sign of any lurking bugs. I have Confidor-ed again. Can I cut back now, and maybe spray again? What do you all think? It was hard to track down this tree and I don't really want to lose it. If I cut back quite hard, will it rejuvenate? Thanks in advance for your advice. |

| Sometimes it's grasshoppers or katydids that chomp away at young leaves. Often they only stop for a few minutes, chewing in from the edge of a leaf, then fly or hop away, so it's hard to catch them in the act. I don't know how you might control them. Mostly the damage is seasonal and the plants grow back. |
