fast growing tree

I have found a lilly pilly called "Lilly Pilly Express". Apparently, as the name suggests, it's very fast growing. It grows to 4.5m so it's perfect for a screen in a small back yard. I hope I won't be disappointed as I bought three. Has anyone heard of these before and do they grow fast? How good are they?
Donna.

I remember seeing a US site referring to them - maybe try a google search? It was a big PR spiel, saying how fast they grew - don't know if I'm convinced though ...

RE: fast growing tree

Hi Doona. I have two of the 'Express'. Their growth rate varied somewhat. The one planted in full sun is now about 2+ metres after 1 and a half years. It is not very bushy. By contrast, the one I planted in a bed with other lillipillies about 1 metre away took off like a rocket. Within 2 years it had grown over three metres and is very dense. I was expecting it to reach only 1-2 metres because of the close proximity of other shrubs. If anything, this seemed to spur it on.
