What tree would you plant??

Hi,

We have a site which gets full sun (The block is due North) on which we wish to plant a dediduous tree. Dimensions wise, the spread of the tree can be no more than 3m, height to about 8-10m maximum. On the left of the site currently are 3 Silver Birches, on the right is a very healthy looking Jacaranda that is loving its position. Have thought about just putting in another Birch but before we do in the interests of diversity, we wanted to ask you all for any other possible candiates?

If you reply, Thanks in advance.

I personally favour a maple of some sort, possibly a Japanese Maple. Click on the link below for more info. There are plenty of other trees to look at as well.
Just remember to make sure you leave enough room for your Jacaranda to expand!
Cheers,
Dee.

Here is a link that might be useful: Winterhill tree farm

If you want such a small spread, try looking at some of the ornamental pears. They flower in spring, have a lovely dark grren canopy in summer and their autumn display is nothing short of spectacular. They range from tall and narrow to spreading, so you can pick the exact spread you want.
