| Hi Carol. It is very easy to strike Hibiscus cuttings I do it all the time, the last lot I did on the 2nd Dec and they now have roots and a bud or two on them thank goodness as I needed to put the right colour on them, I usually nip the buds off, but having three different pinks and only putting pink on the label, you can see why. I give them all away you see. I plant mine in pots with normal potting mix make sure is is wet first , Size please yourself my book says 30cm tall 1 cm thick, mine are half that size, because I did them in the early summer probably. Cut them above a node at the top and below a node at the bottom on a angle and scrape the bottom dip into rooting powder or gell ( I use honey as it is natural ) make a planting hole in the pot with a old pencil or stick put the cuttings in pop into a plastic bag tie with a tie and leave it in the shade. What ever you do, dont be tempted to move the cuttings to see if they have struck as you may break of the very fine roots. Have a look at the link below lots of info in it, they put lots of cutting in one pot, either way would do. Now is a good time to do your hardwood cuttings late Autumn or Winter so they say. In Spring or early Summer buds will start growing then your cutting are ready to be lifted and potted( thats if you have a lot in one pot ) single pots let them grow till you see signs of roots coming out of the bottom Good luck and do let us know next spring how they went.
