Deciduous Trees drop less than evergreens?

| Hi, just wondering whether people think deciduous trees drop more than evergreens or vice versa. I want to plant a Malus Ioensis Plena (deciduous) tree in my front (I live in Perth) and want to know whether it drops a lot of leaves all year round, or only drops during autumn. I can handle a massive drop once a year, but not all year round. I know gum trees are really bad though they are evergreen. |

| All trees drop their leaves (a bit like we drop our old skin cells)- the difference between evergreens and deciduous is that the evergreens tend to drop them throughout the year or at specific times (for example, camellias drop their old leaves at the time they are producing new ones), while the deciduous trees do it in one very obvious go. The leaves of Malus Ioensis Plena or Betchel's Crab-apple should turn vivid red and orange in autumn before falling. Put the leaves in the compost bin, or put them straight on the garden as mulch. They will break down quite quickly. |
