Pale Hibiscus

| I have planted a hibiscus in my front garden. I know it is a good spot for it because there is already one growing on that side (not too near though). It is coping well with being planted out but the leaves are quite a pale green. Is there anything I can do to help it get over this? Is it just tranplant shock (if there is such a thing!)? Oh, by the way, the hibiscus that is thriving nearby is a funny thing....it has pink and cream flowers on the same shrub. They don't fade from one colour to another, they're not pink on one side/cream on another...no, there are pink and cream flowers on the same branch at the same time. Is this as unusual as it seems? Any help would be gratefully received. I have found the simple pleasure of pottering around in my new garden to be so relaxing and I am trying to convert from an ignoramous into a gardener! |

| Hi Sasu, your pale hibiscus may be of a different variety to the other. Your other may be a grafted one as you say it has different coloured flowers on the same stem, this can be done by grafting other coloured plants onto the host.Hibiscus can be pruned back next month and a good fertiliser added, I use a little siliconite as well its slow acting and helps promote good growth at a reasonable rate.Qld Hibiscus has a good site you might like to check out? Good luck Peter |
