Wanted 2 Know Of Trees that Grow Fast!!

Dose anybody know of really fast growing trees? They are needed urgently, they must not be harmful to animals (horses), provide shade (this is the main purpose), height is not a problem, I must be able to cut them down if needed (so no nothing that will need council permisson/or a protected species etc)

Many Welcomes I find Wattles, Grevillea banksii,(Silky Oak Grevillea robusta), (White Cedar Melia azedarach). Many of the Eucalypts, Melaleucas, grow fast but also some of them are not long lived. Find out what natives grow in your area as they would probably be the fastest. Dont know if the horses like them though. Good luck with your planting

hi dont grow white cedar as its poisonus to animals and us ,though pretty to look at if not near animals etc , also no oleanders but we have grevileas and yes horse and cows do eat them but you could always put a small fence (ringlok ) around then until they are bigger thats what we have done and so far so good

Hi,
2 of the fastest trees I know are the fiddlewood and albizzia, the one with the cream coloured flowers, mine has grown to the height of a 2 storey house in 4 years , it is deciduous but it provides a wonderful shade canopy with leaves similar to a cassia, I don't know if they are harmful to stock.

Paulownia "Orienta" (Powton Sapphire Dragon) is a very fast growing ornamental tree. It can grow up to 15 feet in the first year....

Paulownia is a great idea - used in our area by the local farmers as a forestry crop - plus is has beautiful purple flowers. It really is a striking tree!

Here is a link that might be useful: All about Paulownia
