I decapitated my Chinese Pistachio

Posted by pbissett (My Page) on

Hi there,

I accidentally took the top off my Chinese Pistachio tree, it is only young, just under six feet tall (after taking the top off). Will the trunk regrow, or is there a way to encourage the trunk to continue growing as the leader? I'd like it to grow a little taller before spreading.

I hope I haven't ruined the tree.

Thanks for any help.

Paul

Hi I just wondered how your Pistachio tree went, did the trunk keep growing from a leader, or spread out, I reckon it would have spread out myself...How is it coming along with Autumn here I guess the leaves are turning into a beautiful colour around now...but then it has been unusually warm so maybe the leaves are still the normal colour....Cheers...MM.
