We all need a Community traded ant eater. When I was picking the corn, I ended up with the ants running all over me out in the garden. So i did the ant dance - slap, wipe, hose off the feet. In the house they can nearly all be stopped before they get in the door, but you have to feed them! I hang our cooked and eaten meat bones from dinner placed in a plastic bag hanging off a butchers hook on the wire screen at the side door. (you can get little 'S' shaped ones at Bunnings) and leave them there. The bones don't smell as they've already been nearly cleaned up by us and they are cooked. i've tried Borax, sugar and flour (equal parts) - but the ants die in my cupboards and drawers and then i have to clean them up, and the ants make more ants to replace them! But if i got an oz spiny ant eater, i think i would have to lock up the chooks, as they would peck it anyway. Yrs Anne

Try this for indoors - works for me and is very simple. A small bunch of fresh lavender or a spot of lavender oil as close as possible to their entry point at the beginning of the trail will deter them for days at a time. Smells nice too!

One way is to buy some Boracic Acid powder at the local pharmacy. Then 29gms. of honey is heated mix with one large teaspoon of boracic powder and leave where the ants are. Good luck Bill

Any other ideas here? they are crawling all over my kitchen walls by my sink, I have found them in my cupboards and even starting to invade my fridge, ( the seal is bad) I have found them in my bathroom and in my office on the complete other end of the house! I can't find how they are getting in. we spray the outside stuff all over the outside of the house, we have gone through three jugs already this summer. HELP!! I am about crazy with them! |
