Do you know anything about the Meilland Rose named,
La Sevillana.
I have tried to locate a 2007 Meilland Rose catalogue,
with no success. |

| nemo, could I suggest that you type in google or like the Meilland name with its (www) thing and from memory you will need to ask for english translation. Hope this helps, regards, David. |

| Yes, I grow mostly Meilland roses, for me they've proved the most reliable. Over the years I've had a couple of La Sevillanas - a lovely red floribunda with a touch of white in each bloom; abundantly recurrent; growing to a metre or slightly more; not really suitable to tropic or subtropic gardens. A good rose say from Sydney's climate to cooler, up to about zone 9. Plant is available from all or most rose nurseries and even Big W some years (March to July). |

| funnelweb, do you grow Best Friend, aka Caprice de Meilland? I'm having great spring flushes, so-so autumn blooms, and almost nothing in between. Do you have a different story to tell, or a recommendation for a better bloom-power, fragrant Meilland? |

| Sorry betsyw I haven't got back to you earlier, computer probs. I'm not familiar with the ones you mentioned above, but let me tell you if I had to pick among my favourites for flowering, perfume, desease resistance, etc., - well all up - I'd have to go for Meilland's seduction. I garden on a bit over an acre just west of Tweed Heads (zone 9, I think, warm to hot and humid summers) and my 7 seduction roses are never without bloom until I cut the bushes a third back in mid winter and dose them with the lime-sulphur mix. A deadheading, twice a week, sees me tip 2 bucketfulls of spent blooms into the compost bin! And that is all through spring, summer and autumn. I am also quite plesed with a climbing 'Peace', though it's only been in one season. I had more less heat tolerant Meilland (mediland varieties) roses in Sydney which I can describe and name for you if you wish. |
