Moonsprite

Hi all,

This isn't a rose I see often in books or nurseries. However, I bought one some years back and interestingly enough the tag is the oval-shaped Olde World type. Funnily enough it says it's a Floribunda 1951...which to me is a modern rose?!

Anyway, I'd be interested to know from anyone who grows it..your impressions, experiences and all that.

Thanks
varmi

RE: Moonsprite

I've seen quite a number of rose labels claiming old world status for breeds created only 50 or so years ago.One example would be Elmshorn from only 1951 which appears on a Macbird label.

I have Moonsprite growing in my garden, its a good performer, but you must watch for wind, it will need to be staked while it settles in. Keep up the dead-heading and it will just keep on flowering.

Here is a link that might be useful: Moonsprite
