If you want to add any comments on the roses mentioned, feel free :)

Lady Hillingdon- In a 45cm pot, large plant, label says it is a climber...but looks bushy to me ;)

Evelyn- 45cm pot, stunning albeit nodding blooms of a light apricot cream with hints of pink. This and LH look almost pot bound, nice big plants.

Sun King- Love the colour, not a lot of scent there.

Marilyn Monroe- Swane's new rose on the market. Very impressed with colour, creamy apricot...or is that bottle blonde?!? Lovely form I would expect to see used by exhibitors. Nice healthy green leaves. I'd be surprised if this doesn't become one of the most popular roses. Nice scent too.

Ordering-

Kooiana(?) Daybreak- Lovely perfect form much like MM but a delicate shade of pink. Big strong bush, a sport found in WA from Sylvia.

Foundation- Impressed with the flowering power of this orange beauty. Small blooms that look good as the flower ages.

Mme Hardy- Need I say more ;)

Gosnell's Hospital Rose...Not it's official name, just a rose that describes where it was found. Very lovely deeply cupped, large, red-black, excellent scent. Big strong bush.

Sylvia was a fantastic old HT which I no longer have unfortunately. It's blooms are of excellent form and the fragrance was about moderate. Will keep my eyes open for K.Daybreak now.

Good to know Thrip. The nurseryman said it grows huge. Lovely rose.

Correction Sun King does have a lovely scent, not strong but satisfying just the same. Love that colour, descibed as chrome yellow. Reminds me of Just Joey's glowing effect in the garden except this one is an amber yellow.

Hi Varmi
did you vist Mostly Roses just south of Donnybrook? I have been there many times, I actually have a few orders there that are nearly ready (Lady Hillingdon, Sparrieshoop, Devonesis and General Gallini and Tatjana...spelling probably wrong on all of these lol!!)he is a lovely chap...the reason I ask is because of the Gosnells Hospital Red - I was admiring that one just this weekend gone. The display garden is an absolute picture if anyone is in the area.

That's the one gun Rachel...Display garden has got better and better over the years. Nuthin' beats a mature rose eh ;)

Gosnell's Hospital Red- absolute knockout in every sense! Nurseryman told me GHR is very popular. Had a customer buy the lot a couple years back and then same thing last year. So decided I gotta have it this time.

Happy Spring to you!
