I know from previous postings that there are some brilliant photographers out there, so I am hoping that someone can help me with this: I need a photo of the "Peace" rose please.
To explain: my aunt and uncle celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary next year, and my aunt has asked me to do a painting of the Peace rose for her to give him as a surprise. It will be a very special anniversary for them, as she has been battling breast cancer for several years, and though she is now very ill indeed, she is determined to make it to this anniversary. I feel very honoured she has asked me to do this. She is an inspirational lady.
Problem is, I don't have anything to work from! I don't have this rose in my garden and can't find one in a local garden. I can't work from a photo off the Internet or from a book, as this is really frowned upon because of copyright issues. You must take the photo yourself, or have permission.
So if you have this rose, and most importantly would be willing to give me permission to use your photo as the basis for my painting, please post a copy of the photo in reply to this, and/or email it to me at femmeradsy@netspace.net.au
That is a beautiful thought. I have just started growing roses and the first to flower was Peace which was always the favourite rose of my Mothers. I have a couple of pictures for you but maybe someone has beter. some of the pictures are the same but I was playing with a collage at thetime. Marion, hope you can use them for your painting. Marion
Here is my favorite picture of Peace. I have lots of them so I won't bore you with them all. I took this in Monterey, CA. It was in the garden of a very old church. Let me know if you want me to post some others, also.
