Pacific Rose Bowl Festival - Hamilton NZ

Hiya all ... just come back from a 10 day holiday from New Zealand (celebrating 10th anniversary). Made a drive down to Hamilton from Auckland to visit the Pacific Rose Bowl Festival and the roses were gloriously out in full force ... visitors were allowed to pick their favourites to go into the draw for a trip to Fiji.... here's some shots from the gardens. Didn't make it on Sat even though the famed Dr Sam McGredy III was going to make an appearance and I would've loved an autograph (sigh). There were some roses being trialled which we haven't got over here yet ... a nice brown one called KIWI, a beautiful apricot from McGredy called Clodagh McGredy, a scented creamy pink climbing rose from USA called "Emily's Rose" (I WANT THIS ONE!!) and an Irish beauty called "Racy Lady" ... as pictured here ...

Also took time to visit the Elleslie International Flower & Garden Show ... see link below for the piccies.
