Thanks lozza,
I had a look at the web site. I took this pic of some little beasties on my rose but they dont look much like the thrips on that site, Wot are they?

Are they the grub of the thrip?

OK now, is this thrip? these are the little nasties I found under the petals, they dont look much like the ones in the picture from lozza.

First photo, no . Thrips don't have grubs, they have nymphs, junior wingless thrips. They go through 4 instars (metamorpheses) in the ground before becoming adult and flying around. Looks like though you have a katydid in the neighbourhood. Second post, no photo.

Hi MM,
I joined up with photobucket like you suggested and put several pictures on the site, trouble is after I had posted this message and previewed it I then went back to photobucket and moved the pictures I had posted into another album not realising that the picture needs to be in the main album all the time for GW to access it, silly me.
Thanks again for the help.
