Meilland Roses

I drove through Parkes, Cental West N.S.W
The town is surrounded by beautiful bright red
Meilland roses.
The garden supervisor remembered the name but not
the spelling. He pronounced it La Seduista.

The spelling is wrong he is sure, can anyone help.
Also where can I buy Meilland roses in country N.S.W

RE: Meilland Roses

It's very likely La Sevillana MEIgekanu.
It was released a long time ago, 1978, but I'm sure I've seen it in nurseries and it's still on Treloars list.
Can't help with country nurseries. Try ringing Swanes in Sydney and asking who sells their roses in your area.

RE: Meilland Roses

I have La Sevillana, and it is growing well and covered in bright red blooms most of the year. Mine is a standard which I purchased from Ross Roses (Adelaide). They send all over Australia I believe, if you can't find a local supplier. I note that there is a Rose Society of NSW that may help. They have a web site at www.nsw.rose.org.au/roses.html
I hope this helps.
