Sharifa Asma

Sharifa Asma is first to bloom here in Australia. The date is Sunday 19th October.

2nd year with me, the scent is outstanding, and the bush looks a lot more healthy, full and disciplined than last year.

This photo was taken today on a cloudy day. Yesterday, was hot and humid.

What you see in this photo is exactly what it looks like in real life. Eventually this darker pink colour will fade to a lighter pink and white as it ages.

I'm glad I didn't gave up on this rose. Unfortuntely, I have to spray to keep my roses looking healthy.

Most of my other roses are heavily infected with powdery mildew - I had to spray weekly. Plus, thrips are showing up too.

Great photos jumbojimmy. I have this rose growing outside my kitchen window and I love the blooms. Mine has grown well this Spring too.

jimmy, your Sharifa Asma is spotless. I had to hard prune most of my Austins including Sharifa due to Thrip and spidermite damage. They all look like sticks now, my entire spring flush is ruined unfortunately.

I was late for my spraying by three weeks, purposely delayed it to see whether roses can survive without the chemicals. Then i couldn't stand the ugly thrip damaged flowers and sick looking leaves.

What do you spray on your roses and how often. Please tell.
