| I have just ordered a book called "Australian Roses" by Peter Cox - amazing book with gorgeous photos of a vast collection of oz roses - many many more than just the wonderful alister clark ones - it was on special for $15. Can't recommend it more highly. I saw the book at my local Heritage Rose Soc meeting and so have placed an order. Happy to pass on details if anyone contacts me (BTW I am not on commision) as it may be able to be purchased by mail - I am not sure but can find this out.
Peter Cox is a legend in roses in Australia and it is clear how extensive his knowledge is and how well he has applied this to conceive and produce this book - enjoy! |

| Hi Kevarose I too am not on commision. It can be ordered from the green book company esales@greenbook.com.au or tel 03 9427 8866. I have the first edition of this book and have not seen the revised edition. It is advertised on the back page of the Journal of Heritage Roses in Australia - this is why I have the details. I met him at one of the heritage rose conferences (in Freo - he came for dinner at my home on a hospitality night) and he has an encyclopedic knowledge. cheers Deryn |

A great book for all Aussie rosies-What makes me sad is all the 'extinct' Australian roses listed in the book. Seems people prefer international roses rather that local grown ones-and we have some fabulous ones going by the photos and descriptions in this book. An eye opener for all of us. regards sandie |

| Thanks Deryn and Sandie - it is a steal at $15 and I think may go out of print soon so those who think they might be wanting to know what some of those available actually look like might buy it now before it is too late. I agree Sandie what a pity that the community - and I am as guilty as the next - looks to the fashionable one and all these Oz wonderful roses become extinct. |

I have this one and it is great, has heaps of stuff you don't see anywhere else. It has helped me buy some specifically Australian roses. Cheers Judy |

| It's a great buy at $15. Here's some Aussie roses I got outta the book (have to admit that April Hamer I grew in my family of origin garden way back in 1985 and have loved it since). 1. April Hamer
2. Karen Julie
3. MAry Delahunty
4. Peter Benjamin
5. Our Rosamond
Have been searching for a shot of "Another Chance" but can I find one when I'm looking for it? |

| I've noticed quite a few of Alister Clark roses, at least, are available at Petals & Buds Nursery, Kapunda Road, Eudunda, SA 5374, Phone 0431 483 445 and orders for bare-rooted roses are from August 1st to Dec. 30th for winter delivery the follwoing year; after that till March there would be a reduced likelihood of getting the roses you are after, particularly the Modern varieties. |

| Thank you Janine for that advice - might try and get my winter order in as only a few days left - I want a Mrs Richard Turnbull and a few others I have not been able to find anywhere else |
