Has anyone been to New Farm Park ?

I have been wondering if anyone has been to see the wonderful roses at New Farm Park.
We had a lovely day with Brissy there for the Get together but all the roses were in bud, thousands of them, with just a few out except for Gold Bunny and Angel Face who put on a lovely show for us.
We have been wondering what they looked like , even got to the stage of thinking, only thinking, of another flight to Brisbane to have a look.

RE: Has anyone been to New Farm Park ?

Hello Marion,

I visited the park two weeks ago. The old rose section that was flowering well when we visited in early September had very few flowers but the other gardens made up for it; very spectacular. The HTs had so many flowers to a bush and the flowers were huge. We were there around lunch time and the perfume was quite strong. My favourites on the day were Mr Lincoln and Princess of Monaco.

Not sure how the flowers in the park will cope with the high temperatures and winds we are having. At home we had 40 degrees yesterday and today is going the same way. I almost took a photo of my rose garden yesterday morning when I watered as it was looking so good. Last night I had crispy flowers. Fortunately there are lots more buds coming on. Aotearoa seemed to cope the best.

Cheers,
Hazel.

Thank you Hazel, I have been imagining the sight all those buds must have made.
It will be a pity if the weather spoils them for the hundreds of folk who must go to the gardens to see their beauty.
Hopefully the heat and wind will be gone before your next lot of buds open so that you can take a picture and post it as I am sure your garden is magnificent.
Marion, who enjoyed meeting you in The Park.

It is a bloom machine at present and we only missed it by 2 weeks!I was also in Toowoomba this weekend and it also is in full bloom at the State rose garden.

Hope you get to see it Marion

Cheers,
