Mme Alfred - I presume

After three and half long years of waiting, waiting, waiting ... Mme Alfred C. planted just outside the laundry door has flowered (not the spot bloom here and there) but actually mass-flowered like how others have described in previous threads ... and I'm so chuffed by her scent ... which is imperceptible in the cool of the morning but come mid-afternoon and the air is still and warm inside ... her slow sweet fruity aroma comes wafting over the room ...makes up for the 3 day vase life ... and I've almost forgotten the 3 year wait.

Here is a link that might be useful: Mme Alfred Carrierre

Glad she is finally pleasing you Steve. Mine has been in about that long and I am still waiting to be bowled over. Maybe one more year.

OH she is gorgeous Steve!
Climbers do take a couple of years to take off but it sure is worth the wait.

Oh, thank you for your lovely photo. My Mme. Alfred Carriere that I planted in Sept '05 is really growing well and I SO look forward to getting beautiful blooms like you did. Its first flowering consisted of only about 5 small flowers but I know it takes a while to get a rose established so I shall wait patiently. Perhaps I should've even have cut those ones off but I was too much of a coward!
