Violina

I bought this last year after being bowled over by a vase display of Violina at the Vic Rose show at Mt Waverley ... my first season's blooms were small but very fragrant.

This year ... the buds are 3 and a half inches long and the scent is driving my wife mad. Five blooms fills a vase as you can see ....if only I had the space to plant 6 of these bushes and I reckon I'd never need buy roses from the florist again.

And what a beautiful rose that one is, they look wonderful in the vase.
Are they long lasting indoors and what about outdoors you say it is perfumed, is it strong ?.
I love the look of so many roses, but cannot handle the perfume indoors so they never get picked.
Yours are so pretty...Cheers..MM.

Thanks for the encouragements Sandie!

You go for it Brissy!

MM - it's now 6 days in the vase and they've all opened out big like fully blown tulips and stil going strong (scent and all). If you visit Pete's Magic Garden Roses - he's got a monster of a bush of Violina on display ... clothed with leaves from top to toe and big big buds every which way but loose. Perfume is strong but not overwhelming IMO - but other's may think otherwise.

I ordered 19 roses from Pete. Thanks for the info...Cheers...MM.

Agree with you on Violina, Steve. This is a great rose for our conditions, MM and Brissy. In the 12 months or so in my garden, she has been black spot free.

Steve, Just had to tell you that they are lovely pics. I'll be looking into Violina next year. Nearly bought it at the Rose Show in October but restrained myself.

I went to the Mt Wverley Rose show today and was nearly knocked over by this rose. The fragrance is FANTASTIC it smells like old fashioned violets to me.
I didnt buy one as they wanted $33 for a bush, and I am a cheapscate but It is definitely on my list. Its a knockout!

Oh Yes
Like youngquinn, I was bowled over by the display at the Mt Waverly Rose show at the weekend.
It is a definite on my list now. If they had some for sale at the time I would have bought some.
As it was ,I bought a Delbard LaJago---breathtaking colour little scent.
It will be delivered at the end of the week.
cheers
Michelle
