Parramatta Park for roses

I have just discovered the most wonderful collection of heritage roses in Sydney. They are in a special garden at Parramatta Park. A friend and I spent an hour there today, getting dizzy on all the fragrant roses and competing with the bees to get our noses into them. Our vote for the most fragrant rose went to Madame Bruel and second place went to Francis Dubreuil.

Isn't it great? It's a good idea, if you want to check out the performance of the maximum number of roses there, to go once a month or so during the season, from earliest spring when the species, banksias etc, along the fence are doing their thing. I love it but I wish it were better cared for.
I believe something is being done now - a watering system is being considered for starters.
