insulation ideas?

| It was recently suggested to me that my potted roses might need protection from the concrete balcony under them - it gets baking hot in summer.
Could anyone suggest some material or substance that could be used as an insulation mat? Maybe I could put aluminium foil around the pots but not under them. I already have a plant trolley under one pot so it must be cooler than the others but it doesn't seem to be doing any better than the others.
Any ideas? |

| yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Though, unless you've got evidence that the concrete is indeed a problem, I'm not sure I'd worry about it. |
