They are lovely roses.
Yes Marion, a tripod is such a boon in these low light situations. The other thing to try is maybe rest the camera on one of the fences that stop people from touching. Also, if you are hand holding, take a breath and hold it when you gently squeeze the button. Do you have a flash, that can give sharper pictures also though the shadows can be harsher.

I cant wait for the roses to start blooming here in Melb.
Although with the warm weather we have been having may it wont be so far off!

Forgive me for being a little slow Ashmeri but do you prefer people on the forum to call you Marion?
If so, my apologies for past references.
My wife and I love your photos.The forum is far more interesting for it.
PS What is the big coffee coloured rose at top right?
PPS Are all these roses grown in central Qld just recently (ie in Winter)?

Thrip, Marion is my given name and Ashmeri is my Puter name, either one is good.
The roses were all grown in Wowan, except for mine ,
Wowan is a small town about 90 klms SW of Rockhampton, great farming area in the Callide Valley.
Gets quite cold in winter and hot in summer and there are some great gardeners round the place both in the town and farms.
I just rang a friend there and she said she thinks the rose's name is Julias Rose.
My other ones in the large pots are all doing well and flowering for me. What a thrill that is.

What beautys they all are I look forward to when my roses bloom but they are only just beginning to shoot we are much later here, my sister was told to hold the digital camera up to the eyes like a normal camera & it will solve the blur problem
