Paws....and blue moon) Have I asked this before?

Hi All
What a day..It's Col's (Husband's) 56th birthday and with all the phone calls to tradesmen, blue nurses and personal carers coming in I forgot Col's tablets, (Had to take them down to the respite centre and give them to him there), forgot also the sulphate of potash and the spinach fettucine for dinner. I don't know if I have asked this before but thought I had. Has anyone had problems with the rose Paws, the RSPCA rose. Mine is not doing at all well. It's in a pot and beside it all the other roses seem to be taking off well but poor little paws is just sitting there looking dejected. Gave it a spray with the lime suphur for blackspot but it is still not improving. I am wondering if it would fare better in the garden. I just don't want to risk losing it. Also my blue moon climber still seems dormant no leaves at all and it's been planted (Bare roote) for about two weeks and all the others I got at that time are looking healthy. Any suggestions ? Jan

Hi Jan,

I have a climbing Blue Moon as well, it is just a slow grower. If you are giving it all the usual needs for roses it should be fine.

Plus the bonus of the rain we are getting this week!

Cheers,

Brissy

Maybe a pep up is needed.Have you tried Charlie Carp and/or Miracle Gro?
I find these are a good pep up for the roses that seem to need a boost.
Good Luck

Well I have the Paws and Best Friend RSPCA roses in large pots and both have been very good indeed .
My horror is Julia's Rose ,which alas is my favourite!! I have tried for five years now but she loves her black spot and anything else thats about !!

Hi clareanon

just on the the rose Best Friend--I bought this rose last year covered in beautiful fragrant blooms.
I then transfered it to a very large container and while it grew well the blooms didnt appear again.
I bought it towards the end of the season.
Does yours have many blooms thru the season or is it a rose that flowers once or twice and thats it?
Thanks
Michelle
