CAN I USE A POST HOLE DIGGER TO DID A HOLE 35CM WIDE & 35CM DEEP IN CLAY,FILL WITH SOIL & THEN PLANT ROSES

Hi John.. Yes you could as long as that hole does not turn into a well where the roots could rot.. Is it a raised bed you are planting the roses into if not then plant the bush as high on a mound. Its a good idea to fill the hole with water and let it drain away before planting. Good luck with your roses Cheers... Misty |

THANKS MISTY, GLAD TO SEE THERE A FEW OLD NAMES STILL ON THIS AND THE CORNUCOPIA SITE. NO MY ROSES ARE NOT IN A RAISED BED THIS TIME. PLAN TO DIG A 500X500 HOLE AND FILL WITH SOIL AND THEN PLANT THE ROSES. I HOPE THIS KEEPS THE WATER AT BAY.A FEW PEOPLE IN THIS STREET HAVE PLANTED STRAIGHT INTO CLAY AND DONT SEEM TO HAVE A PROBLEM.
