Kentucky Derby vs Fragrant Charm

| I don't know these reds and wondered how they compare...re health, colour, scent, blooms in regard to how they mature and cope with different weather....thanks in advance. I have these in pots and have not had the pleasure of seeing any blooms as yet. I'm not particularly fond of keeping sad, struggling roses or so so roses as too many out there in nursery land that would love a spot in the garden...that deserves a spot.
Your answers will help me decide on where to put these or if they deserve some special treatment ie- a visit to the rubbish dump ;P
regards

| They are both great roses. Fragrant Charm would be my choice if i had to pick between them, but only by a small margin. If you have room, keep them both.Have a look at the treloars web site, it has good descriptions of both. |

| I found Kentucky Derby very reliable, hardy, healthy and quick to repeat. It also has a good vase life. The down side was that it did not have much perfume in comparison to the likes of Mr Lincoln, Oaklahoma and Papa Meilland. If my other roses were a bit scant I could usually find a few buds on KD to give away. Sorry I don't know fragrant charm. Good luck with your choice. |

| I've just planted Fragrant Charm for the first time, so I'm hoping too that it will be a winner! This might help some recognise it or find it in their rose books: it is more commonly known as Royal William (its English name). Apparently a rich red with very good fragrance. I hope so, anyway! |
