Sept/Spring catch up for SE Qld Rosies?
| | |
Posted by Brissy QLD Aust (My Page) on Thu, Jul 28, 05 at 23:06
| Hi all,
I'm on the bandwagon again for one of our fun catch up afternoons. What about New Farm park with all those rose gardens to drool over? I think Annie suggested this location.
There is a cafe just beside the park which would be nice for lunch or maybe the Summer House cafe which is in the park. Any suggestions welcome.
There are a few of you that keep meaning to come to these catch ups, so it would be great to have a date picked out ahead to keep safe from family/friends invites so you can come.
Cheers,
Brissy

Come on quiet ones on the forum, we would love you to come to this fun afternoon and be able enjoy an afternoon with our small group, whom all just love growing roses! Cheers, Brissy |

| I would like to come along but will have to wait until the day - we have a party to go to the night before so it will depend on how I am feeling on the Sunday. V |

| Hi Vee, Maybe a solution, what side of Brisbane do you live? If someone could pick you up on the way so you didn't have to drive that might be a better solution for your night on the light fantastic and you wouldn't miss out on the afternoon plus you could order a nice greasy lunch to help with the damage : ) Brissy |

| Brissy I am at Holland Park - just near you - remember? The driving isn't the issue, just didn't want to sit there like a zombie that's all. |
RE: Sept/Spring catch up for SE Qld Rosies?

| Sorry I forgot, if your ok to come I can drive you anyway rather than two cars. Brissy |

Hi All, New Farm Park,All the roses were pruned last 2 weeks and are being mulched this week, sprayed and tidied up.If you would like to travel by bus to New Farm Park take the 190 Bus from Adelaide St the City or catch the City Cat to New Farm Park Terminal short walk to Rose Gardens, will be fairly crowded as well. If you would like to get a bus load together I would be able to organise 1 for the afternoon at minimal costs and drive for free. Lets make a day of it ? Peter r |
RE: Sept/Spring catch up for SE Qld Rosies?
| | |
| Hi Peter, I don't think we need a bus to get somewhere so central this time, I think all of us have cars and come in different directions, but if we plan a day to Toowoomba or around show gardens in the future we will certainly need your bus. We could maybe talk about if people would like to do a day of rose touring when we meet in Sept. : ) Thanks again for your offer. Brissy |
RE: Sept/Spring catch up for SE Qld Rosies?
| | |
| I like that idea, Brissy....a whole of touring gardens, roses (or otherwise, I don't mind), maybe lunch, too? or a picnic? |
RE: Sept/Spring catch up for SE Qld Rosies?
| | |
| Ok, lets put our thinking caps on for a days touring around maybe Nov. Where can we go for the day with maybe 3-4 stops with a nice place for lunch. Lets talk more at our catch up. Peter it looks like your on a winner. : ) |

What a champion you are scubamid! It was lovely you were able to come last time and it will be great catching up with you again. Where are you staying, do you need a lift? As someone will be coming from your side of town. Cheers, Brissy |
RE: Sept/Spring catch up for SE Qld Rosies?

| I'm very new to roses, but, YES! I think I'll be able to come. It will depend whether I have indoor hockey in the morning or afternoon, but I will aim to be there. I'll probably bring Mum too; she's an Iceberg fan. Cheers, Corey P.S. Thanks for mentioning this Brissy! |

Is there anyone in the Mt.Gravatt area,? We will be staying at a motel there for the wedding and checking out on the Sunday morning and heading in to New Farm Park and then catching a bus to Tweed Heads after the Rosies get together. So long since I have been a Brisbanite I get lost easily. It used to be such a large country town in those days and Mt.Gravatt was the last suburb before the Gold Coast. !!!! Marion, who bought a lovely little yellow miniature rose today, pretty little thing it is. |

| Hi Marion, I live in a suburb near to Mt Gravatt, so I will pick you up! Contact me on my home page and we will tee it up. Does anyone else need a lift from the Southside? I have room for 4. Cheers, Brissy |

| Hi Shane, Could you bring a selection of roses to sell for the day? There would be some happy buyers I'm sure. Are you still ok for the 1pm meet? Would you leave Toowoomba at 11? Moreton, how are the roses looking in New Farm Park? Cheers, Brissy |
