How do other gardeners manage to get rid of onion weed under their roses.
I have tried digging them out, strong Glyphosate, which is tricky around roses, keeping them cut persistantly but still they return.
Does anyone have any tricks?

Have you tried 'cooking' them under black plastic in sunshine? Another option is to be vigilant and every time you see a green shoot pull it out. No plant can survive forever without it's greenery. Cheers, Dee. |

| I saw a tip somewhere that if you dip scissors in Zero and cut the green leaf off about half way up, the onion weed dies. Haven't tried it myself. You would have to be very careful not to drip any on the roses. My method is to go around and pull it up slowly after rain, when the soil is soft. |

| Apparently chooks will dig out all the bulbs and exterminate the plant. A small 'A' frame portable chook pen with a few chooks in it are all you need. You won't need to put garlic on your eggs either. |
