Newly planted 'Perfect Moment' - A question

Hi folks
I planted a perfect moment rose a few weeks ago. It was a very young potted specimen with just a few leaves. I checked just now, more new leaves and there's a bud on her. Will this open normally at this time of year here in Brissy ? I didn't expect anything for a few months!

Yes I have roses opened at present and in bud.
I find that here in the warmer climate ours blooms so much earlier.
Also it has been a much milder winter. Cheers...MM

Hi fellow Queenslander,
You are not alone having buds and blooms now, I pruned in May before I went on holidays and came back to lots of them. I also have Perfect Moment and she loves our weather here in Brissy!
Good luck,
Brissy

Hi Everyone
I have Perfect Moment and it is my very favourite rose.It is just going along with new growth but I bought some Flower Carpet for ground cover and there are buds on that! I couldn't believe my eyes .Again, we have have a mild winter so far but it was a real surprise to see the buds as well.

Most roses seem to keep growing here in Winter, some even to the point of producing watershoots (somewhat stunted though they may be). What I find frustrating is the way that the more petaliferous varieties take almost the entire season to open the flowers up by which time your almost sick of waiting.

Thanks people for the responses. I'm really looking forward to the blooms. What I love is seeing the recently pruned roses producing new leaves, reddish and all. It gives you faith in what you're doing. I mainly grow palms but the roses of which I have 24, gives me more reasons to go into the garden which is where I roam a great deal.

I found more buds today!!
The rose was Many Happy Returns.
Surprise again.
I also have a couple of daffodils starting to show some beautiful yellow. Bit early for them i thought.
