I was amazed

at the number of Roses on display at the Ayr Agricultural Show last weekend.
The flowers were wonderful to my untrained eyes, I thought that it might be too hot and humid up there for Roses to be grown but when we were moving round the town there were many garden with Roses growing very happily in them.

Marion they are all so beautifu, yes it is amazing what you can grow up north.
We have a member that grows them in the Northern Territory so I reckon if you can
grow them there, they will grow anywhere. I like that salmon pink one in the
Singles Exhibits do you know its name ? Great Pics...MM

Misty, I don't know the names of any of them but they were so beautiful and healthy.
There were some really lovely Gerberas as well.

Lovely green leaves Marion, oh, the flowers are pretty good too. Interesting to see what comes out of the fearsome north :)

When I see them like that, I remember why I love them so much.
and really the first thing you have to do if you want to grow roses in the north is to pick the right varieties...that really is half the battle.

Anyone got any idea what the one at the bottom in the middle (ish) cream with dark maroon edge might be?

Weeeellllll....Delbard's Chandon is a darkish reddish maroonish sort of colour with a pale reverse.
MIGHT be??

Perhaps" Fionas Wish"???
