Hi, I have just planted 3 bare rooted roses. Dolly Parton, Harmonie & Mercedes. Has anyone else got these roses & if so how do they preform. Thanks.

RE: New plantings

Bazza, I haven't planted any of them, but Victoria is the 'home' of roses. Harmonie, according to my Botanica's pocket Book of Roses, is a hardy, tall, bushy rose for (American) zones 4 - 9. It's a Kordes of Germany rose, he is a tried and tested grower. Dolly Parton, well, the name alone, I reckon is worthy of a rose - I've always had a soft spot for Dolly. It's a popular rose of similar colour to Harmonie and suitable for zones 4 -9. Harmony, well, looks like there's not a lot of variation between the three! Full flowered pink, zones 5 -11. Suitable to slightly warmer climes. Good luck with them but Bazza, you have a much bigger choice down there than I have so I'd suggest if you like roses, and they are the pick of flowers, do a bit of research, you'll find there are heaps that will suit where you are.
