between morning sun and afternoon sun, which would be the best for roses?

| Morning. It helps to dry the foliage wet from overnight dew, giving fungus less time to develop. Morning is also the time when rose blooms develop until about 2 pm, so morning sun assists this process. |

| Morning sun should mean better blooms during peak season and the heat of summer. At the onset of winter and in early spring, afternoon sun is actually better because it will help extend the blooming season (well it does for me). I agree with what Lozza says about fungus, but in peak season fungus should be less of a worry anyway. |
