I bought a Heidesommer rose at Bunnings the other day for $3 in the tubestock section. I'd seen photos of it on rose catalogues before and of course it looked beautiful. But when I tried to search for any mention of it on Gardenweb I couldn't find a single one.

Has anybody got this rose? And more importantly, has anyone got anything good to say about it?

I love Heidesommer - it is like a ground cover and has bloomed for me from spring until ?? - well it is still in bloom. A great choice.

I love it too. I bought heaps to edge a bed (it doesn't extend as far as most groundcovers but it is low) and had it eaten out by rabbits, so I transplanted it all to my daughter's garden. There it blooms its heart out, delights the bees and spreads its scent around.

How would you describe the fragrance? I mean, is it old rose, myrrh, lemony, honey-like?

Sorry, I can't check without a trip across town. Maybe later.
