The Hunt for Red Pierre

Well, today I went Red Pierre hunting, and found a nursery which actually had a couple of potted specimens, one of which was in flower.

All I can say is...WOW! The fragrance is fantastic and the the flowers? Gorgeous!

The price for these potted specimens?...much more than I was willing to spend however; I'll be getting them bare-rooted either from Treloars or the BH&G rose offer. Can't wait

RE: The Hunt for Red Pierre

Red Pierre is at the top of every gardening climber list this season - *envy*. I am so tempted to get more climbers, I'd be interested in hearing how it does.

Isn't it amazing how much the markup for potted roses is. I know a little nursery that sells potted delbards and I'm so tempted to go and have a little look but I absolutely can't trust myself...its like you can have it now or later and its just so nice to put one that's already flowering into the garden. As a gardener, I'm not terribly patient and looking at my little garden of sticks I'm sure I would tell myself that just one wouldn't hurt.. the willpower would be excruciating.

Er, gardenweb seems to be tremendously quiet as the ticking of the clock down to the arrival of rose orders gets louder.
