Advice on Generosa Roses - 'versigny'

Posted by whoopdedeaux 8b - TX (My Page) on

Hello from Texas! I have loved the photographs of this rose for some time and was fortunate to track down ONE in the U. S. - the Generosa roses are very difficult to find here and the Versigny is virtually impossible to locate.
NOW THAT I HAVE IT...please help! I live in Central Texas and we have very mild winters, but extremely hot, dry and long summers. Does this rose do better when protected from the strong afternoon sun and heat, or does it prefer full sun? It is not unusual for us to have 100 days over 90 degrees F.

Any help you could give me would be very much appreciated. Best Regards, Anne

Generosa roses have not been very widely grown and distributed here yet - seems there are some on the market this winter, hence the lack of responses so far.
