ID needed

I'm hoping someone can ID a rose without a photo. It's a single, white flower literally the size of a saucer. The stamens are prominent and the scent is evident, though not strong. Can anyone help with a name?

If the leaves are different from your average rose - if they are rough and rather wrinkled looking - and the stems are seriously thorny, you may have Rosa rugosa alba.

What about Nevada? Pic at site below.

Mine has never prospered, but I do love the few flowers when they come. It has long canes and the flowers appear all along them. It dates from the 1930s I think.
