The Chainstores have the Roses out already, a bit early for us in Qld still way to hot for rose planting here? Not any pictures of the colour blooms either? Water restrictions also ? If we do get some new roses,we won't be allowed to water them soon? Peter r

RE: In the shops already?

HI Peter ....Yes they have been out a few weeks here I had a look at some this morning and of course I bought one but only one as I prefer to buy from the rose nurseries.. Last year I planted my first barerooted rose on 20th April and on March 7th this year a day of 33degs I dug up my two Bonica patio roses and all the soil fell off the roots I put them in a new bed as they were not happy where they were, now weeks later they are both flowering, so sorry I cannot agree with you about it being too hot to plant roses here in Queensland ( We have had this debate before especially about transplanting in the heat) I will be planting mine one tomorrow regardless of the temperature I think the poor plant will be a lot happier in the ground than stuck in the A/C stores as not all the plants are outside and they dont look after them they all heaped there in those plastic bags with the new shoots going yellow already.

Remember Peter we dont have to water with a bucket till the dams go down to 30% and do you honestly think that will stop us from watering our roses not me I only water them once a week now so they will be Ok...And look on the bright side they reckon it will rain tonight Hmmm.

"Well its got to rain some time" Cheers...MM.
