| I had a pappa meilland rose which wasin the wrong place. I decided to toss it as I was having trouble with suckering. I bought a new one last year but it is not the true colour it's more of a pinky red instead of the brilliant red. I spoke to my nursery about it and they suggested that it may have been mislabeled or it doesn't like where I have put it.I would like to get another one but am reluctant to spend money on something that I don't want. Am I unlucky or have other people experienced similar problems |

Polly, I have been caught by mislabels in the past. Not so much a problem for me but when you give a particular rose as a gift and then find out it's not what it said it was. I sometimes find what I am looking for while they are in flower.Maybe a transaction with a recognised rose nursery may solve your problems, perhaps if it turns out to be a mislabel they will replace it. I could never say I have ever ben disappointed with any rose I have grown, they learn to survive possums and kangaroos and the odd tractor! I have a blackboy rose which sometimes throws beautiful dark red blooms and then the odd peter frankenfeld pink so it may be the soil too. |
