This is my first year for Sir Walter Raleigh, an older Daviv Austin and I am delighted with him. His blooms last ages and he has a beautiful "spiced honey" sort of fragrance. I hope you like him. pam

Lovely looking rose there Pam, what is it about pink roses I adore them.
I have more pink roses than any other colour.
Wonderful that the blooms of SWR last for ages and the perfume sounds divine.
Beautiful Pic.....I Like it too....Cheers...MM.

What a gorgeous pink. Spiced honey sounds like an intriguing scent - is it similar to anything else to compare it to?

Pam,

There are few deep rose pink varieties that are as good as Sir Walter and what's makes Sir Walter special among them is that opulent, sweet fragrance.

May I suggest just one little thing? When taking pics of roses, avoid using flash. Built in flash distorts the colour, sometimes beyond recognition, and introduces burnt highlights and too deep shades.

After taking few hundred shots of all differet flowers, in various conditions, I stopped using flash. The unique charm of a rose flower is that one coming from a play of reflected sun rays between the petals and camera flash just kills it. And a beautiful, inctricate rose petal transforms itself in a lifeless plastic.

Thanks Tom
I am taking a lot of phots as well and find I have to alter the contrast down a lot even without the flash.
I find the rose Blue Moon almost impossible to photogragh in any light ...it just doesnt come out well .I dont know what I am doing wrong .
I'll give it a go today the rose is looking wonderful.
cheers
Michelle
