Mistydowns Update

Posted by rosehall Vic Aus (My Page) on

There was a post a couple of weeks ago, asking if Mistydowns was still operating. I went out to check today and yes they are, and now have the nursery at the Tangled Maze just outside Creswick( Vic) on the Daylesford Rd.
They are open every day 10-5.30 except for August.
Thank goodness we will still be able to get those oldfashioned roses that are such a major part of the garden . Some local nurseries have had to temporarily close down because of the water restrictions.

Is it any easier to get to than that DREADFUL place at Kingston?

Yes Fran, it's signposted ( Tangled Maze) just off the main Ballarat /Daylesford Rd., just out of Creswick,

Easier to find. It's just a few minutes up the Daylesford road out of Creswick. They still don't have a Misty Downs sign up though!

I finally made the effort and drove the 5 minutes it takes from here to there :-)
Their roses are better laid out than the old place - you walk on plastic - not in mud. It is a good time of year to see them - if you want repeat blomers you can see them in bloom, and verify accuracy of names. You can also see how well their foliage (and flowers) hold up with the overhead watering they get.
If you are coming some distance - make a day of it with your family - they have mazes to tramp through, and tea rooms. They had a children's party underway when I was there. Much better than Macca's - LOL
