is climbing pinkie just multiflora the rootstock or is pinkie good rootstock cause it has a lot of long thornless canes that would be easy to use as a rootstock. would there be a compatability problem with other roses because it is a polyanther.
thanks kevin

RE: climbing pinkie

Not sure I know much about rootstock, but I doubt that it is used as rootstock. It is a cultivar in it's own right, and not just multiflora.
Another gardenwebber shared her cuttings with me, of Pinkie on it's own rootstaock and they have grown brilliantly. Very strong growth, healthy bushes with lovely blooms.
I would worry that the pinky of the rootstock would just take over from anything you grafted onto it.
It is a fairly thornless plant.
Quiet here - you should try going on over to Ausgadren. Do a search to find it. I don't like to put a link in here.
